Best Children’s Socks

I have been working for a specialized children’s shoe store for over 10 years now, and we are one of the best children’s shoe stores in the country that specializes in fitting children with special foot needs, but we provide regular shoe fittings as well. Over the years I became familiar with the best children’s socks.

Sweaty feet is an issue that spans all age groups. The best way to deal with sweaty –and in some cases—stinky feet is to wear proper socks. Even if your little one’s are not prone to sweating excessively, moisture on the skin can create several problems, such as blisters, the growth of  bacteria, and fungus, such as Athlete’s foot.  Moisture on the skin is also a problem during cold weather, as moisture pulls heat away from the skin at a significantly higher rate than air.

The socks that I describe below are seamless, breathable, they wick moisture away and help prevent growth of odor-causing bacteria in the sock. Disclosure: Keep in mind that we may receive commissions when you click our links and make purchases.

  1. Are the socks only available on Amazon .com or all the Amazon sites over the world? Is there a secret to a good sweaty sock stopper? The common denominator between the ones you’ve shown seems to be cotton, is there anything else? My little boy’s feet are very sweaty so it would very useful information! Sammi

    • Sammi,

As far as I am concerned these socks should be available on all the Amazon sites over the World.Cotton and nylon is the best combination. Cotton allows the foot to breathe while the nylon gives strength and shape to the sock. Seamless socks are highly recommended for foot comfort and for children who have sensitive feet, another name for this type of sock is hand linked seams.

UnderArmour is a great brand that runs in sizes child through adult, both genders. You may know of UnderArmour shirts, which famously wick away sweat. Their socks, while made of slightly different fibers, serve the same purpose, along with providing support where the foot needs it. I hope this clarifies, thank you for sharing 🙂

  2. I didn’t even know that they made kids socks with these features. My kids have more foot sweating and odor issues during the summertime so that will probably be when I order special socks for them. I’ll bookmark your page and come back to look around some more later. Thank you for the great information!

    • Elijah,

During the summertime we experience the worst cases of sweaty feet. Wearing the right pair of sneakers with proper socks will definitely make a difference.

  3. Impressive collection of socks here.

Didn’t realise that you got socks that actually prevent moisture from building up and this preventing some foot ailments like athlete’s foot.

I am sure a lot of sportsmen would be interested in these types of socks. This I am sure would help them a lot.

  4. Hi Elvalen,

Very good article on proving solutions to stinky feet especially that some of my nieces’s and my nephew’s friends have unbearable stinky feet 🙂 Although their moms tried so many methods including socks but I’ll definitely inform them to try these ones. Is the Under Armour ones for grown ups? Great stuff. Thanks !

    • Mona,

The socks that I describe contain signature Moisture Transport wicks moisture, accelerates evaporation and armour block helps prevent growth of odor-causing bacteria in the sock. Has your sister tried something like this before? The Under Armour socks that I have under my review section are for children. Thank you for sharing 🙂

  5. Can you make a post for adults? I am looking for socks like these, yet in women’s sizes. In these winter months, I could use socks that not only keep my feet dry, but warm. The sock should be able to fit with running sneakers, boots, and/or work shoes. I’m also a runner,so any info would be helpful.

  6. That was really good information, I was talking to my friend a while ago about our co worker’s stinky feet and OMG this is definitely something he would consider. He was complaining that he tried everything and didn’t work with the sweating and smelly feet, I’ll drop him your link.

    • Fatima,

Your co worker probably needs socks that wick away the moisture. Wicking simply means absorbing moisture. What type of sneakers does he wear? Remind him that sneakers with breathable soles will help his feet breathe better. The best way to deal with sweaty – and in some cases—stinky feet is to wear proper socks. Thank youfor sharing 🙂

      • I am with ya sisters – I hate the triyng to keep track of socks!!! (my only trade off when it’s spring is we have to paint all the little toesies on saturday night before church on sunday morning.)But I would rather paint once a week than hunt socks every morning before school.

  7. Hi, my son has really sweaty feet and constantly has fungal infections. He also needs to wear insoles and is about to start prep this year. I have bought him a pair of black sneakers and am not sure which socks would be able to help him. I appreciate any advice from you.

  8. Hello,
I see that you have worked with children with spina bifida. Do you have any resources for fitting shoes for adults with Spina Bifida? As an adult it is difficult to find people who have worked with Spina Bifida patients on finding the right shoes. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :).
