Are you frustrated about having to keep tying your kids’ shoes every time they become untie? Is your child having a hard time keeping his/her shoes tied? Are the shoe laces falling apart faster than you expected? Have you been looking for shoe laces for your child that are durable and don’t untie as often? You came to the right place! STOP getting frustrated about your children’s shoe laces becoming untie all the time!
There is a pair of shoe laces made by New Balance named the “bubble shoe laces” (I called them the magic shoe laces), which once you make them tie, they tend to STAY tie much better than any other shoe lace. They are made of 100% polyester, extremely well-made which makes them hold up better than any other regular shoe lace.
I know that shoe laces might sound like a minor issue for most parents, but for some parents not having to re-tie their kids’ shoes (or their own) ten times a day sounds more like a miracle!
Do these shoe laces actually exist? Are they so special as I claim them to be? Yes! I have been working at a children’s shoe store for over 6 years, and we specialize in children that have foot issues. Several of these children need to wear orthotics in their shoes, which in most cases require a shoe that has shoe laces. I have tried all typed of shoe laces, wide, skinny, waxed… you name it! Nothing works as good as the “bubble shoe laces” which are the best selling shoe lace by New Balance.
If you have a child that wears orthotics in his shoes, there is a post I wrote where I explain the best method of tying shoes with orthotics. The post is called:
At the kids’ shoe store that I work for, parents are always complaining about their kids shoe laces coming untie all the time. For those children that wear orthotic inserts, a pair of shoes with laces will provide them with more support and more stability. Making sure your child is wearing the proper shoe laces is important to prevent the shoes from coming untie all the time, since that can lead to falls and injuries.
What Makes These Shoe Laces So Special? The Adjustable Grip!
These type of shoe laces are made of polyester and with little bubbles running intermittently along the length of the shoe lace. These bubbles catch and hold the laces so they don’t come untied. If your child is involved in competitive sports, you should definitely put a pair of these shoe laces in his/her cleats.
The last thing you want your child worrying about when he is running on the field is his shoes becoming untie! When a child is playing a sport, he is running faster and sprinting, and a pair of untied shoe laces can make him fall and hurt himself!
Does your child know how to tie his shoes? If he doesn’t, I wrote a post where I describe the best shoe tying method for children! The post is called:
No More Double Knotting Required! – The Laces Won’t Come Undone
Aside from its visual style which is interesting, these shoe laces provide a unique characteristic: once tied in a simple bow knot they stay tied! You won’t have to double knot your kids shoes anymore, and no, they are not hard to untie!
I still remember this family that kept complaining about their kids’ shoes laces coming untie all the time. After replacing his kid shoe laces and having such a positive experience with the “bubble” shoe laces, one of the parents decided to come back to the shoe store and purchase an extra six pairs since he wanted to replace all his family’s shoe laces!
Shoe laces should not be too short or too long. If they are too short, your child will have the hardest time learning how to tie them. If the shoe laces are too long, they will end up getting caught on things and are your child might step on them putting your child at risk of falling down.
Take a look at the picture below in order to find out exactly what shoe lace length your child needs!
The Alternative To Tying Shoe Laces – Toggle Shoe Laces
Getting the right pair of shoe laces is not enough! You must teach your child how to tie his or her shoe laces properly. However, if your child is not ready to learn how to tie his shoe laces, STOP forcing him to! He won’t learn until he is ready to! In the meantime, you can provide him with a pair of toggle shoe laces!
Also called Lock Laces, these devices are an alternative to tying shoes. Your child will only have to press a button to make the laces tight, and press it again to loosen them and take his shoes off! Yeap, is that simple! Even adults wear them!
If you think this might be a good alternative for your child, I wrote a post where I describe the best toggle shoe laces for kids’. The post is called:
