Have you been looking for a pair of waterproof boots for your girl? Do you want to provide your child with a pair of fashionable looking boots that are functional at the same time?

It is easy to get overwhelmed when you see a large selection of waterproof boots for kids, as it makes it hard to figure out which ones are the best type for your child’s feet.

I have been fitting children’s shoes and orthotics for the last 10 years at a store where we specialize in children with foot and leg problems, but we provide regular shoe fittings as well. Over the years I became familiar with the best waterproof shoes for kids.

Parents need to understand that there is a big difference between waterpoof and water-friendly boots. Waterproof means that water won’t penetrate the inside of your kids’ boots, while water-friendly means that water won’t penetrate the inside your kids’ boots as long as your child doesn’t step into a puddle or walks on wet surfaces for long periods of time.

It doesn’t matter how many times you ask your child to avoid jumping on a puddle, when kids see one, they simply can’t help jumping on it!

Did you know that most children won’t speak up when their feet get wet? Walking around with wet feet all day can lead to several foot issues.

Just so you know, in order for the boot to be waterproof it must come with a label that reads “waterproof”. If it doesn’t have the label, it’s not waterproof, I will expand on this shortly.

It’s extremely important that you keep your kids’ feet dry and warm – especially during the winter season. There is only a small selection of waterproof boots for kids that are supportive and lightweight and flexible at the same time, but the good news is that I will help you find them.

Girls are particular about what they wear on their feet, so it’s important for the boots to be waterproof but somewhat stylish at the same time.

It doesn’t matter how many features a particular shoe provides for your child, if the shoe is not fitted properly – the correct shoe length and the correct shoe width, your child won’t get any of the benefits that the shoes have to offer.

If you are going to order your kids’ shoes online, you are going to need to know your child’s exact foot size, or you will end up returning the shoes back and forth.

If you are not sure of your child’s exact foot size, take a look at an article where I describe the simplest and most effective way to figure out your child’s foot size from home:

What Makes the Waterproof Boots I Recommend Special for Girls?

Let’s take a look at the 3 most important advantages of providing your child with a pair of the boots I recommend:

✅ They help keep your kids’ feet dry: The number one advantage of waterproof boots is that they will keep your kids’ feet dry and warm. Waterproof boots are designed with a special lining that helps prevent water from coming inside the shoe. As a result, your kids’ feet will stay dry and comfortable.

✅ They help prevent blisters: When your kids’ feet become wet, they are more more to developing a blister as the skin becomes softer and more susceptible to rubbing against the shoe.

✅ They will prevent your kids’ feet from catching a cold: If your kids become wet on a cold day then this will not only make them uncomfortable, but it can also lead to them catching a cold.

How Can You Tell if the Boot is Waterproof? – Let’s Find Out!

Like I mentioned before, it’s important to not confuse water-resistant boots with waterproof boots. A water-resistant boot will prevent your child’s feet from getting wet when they are walking on wet grass for example. However, on rainy days a water-resistant boot will not prevent your kids’ feet from getting wet.

Like I mentioned before, the only way to tell if a particular boot is waterproof is to check if it comes with a label that reads “waterproof”. Take a look at the image below for clarification purposes:

Did you know that socks play a huge role when it comes to keeping your kids feet healthy? I always explain to parents how socks act as barrier between your kids’ feet and the shoes, preventing infections and the build-up of bacteria inside the shoe.
