When I first started with the idea of creating a webpage about children’s shoes, my main goal was to make parents more aware about the importance of providing their children with the correct pair of shoes. I wanted for parents to be able to scroll through my website and find every single answer they had that related to their kids’ feet and their shoes.
After 3 years from creating my website, writing 150 articles, and responding to thousands of comments from parents, I believe I have reached the point where I have ALL the answers to your kids’ foot problems. At this point I feel confident that if you scroll down through my website looking for a particular answer to your particular question about your kids’ feet, you WILL find it!
Did you know that the shoes you provide to your kids’ can be a direct cause for your kids’ foot and leg pain? If the shoes are not fitted properly, they will also contribute to your kids’ foot and leg INJURIES!
It is always important to take the time to make sure our kids’ shoes are fitted properly. A shoe that is too short or too narrow will end up creating blisters, calluses, and corns from the constant pressure from the shoes and our kids’ toes. On the other hand, a shoe that is too long or too wide will end up compromising your kids’ stability, making them more prone to falls and injuries!
So all you need to keep your kids’ feet and legs healthy is to find shoes for your child that are not too short or too narrow, neither too long nor too wide. This doesn’t sound that complicated, does it? Actually, it’s not as easy as it sounds!
Depending on the shape of your kids’ feet, finding the correct pair of shoes can get pretty complicated! For example, your child might have a medium width foot but have a high instep. This means you will have to provide your child with a pair of wide width shoes even though his width measured medium! This is because we need to accommodate for his or her instep.
If you are not sure about what the instep of the foot is, you CAN’T possibly be getting your kids’ the correct shoe size!
The instep is the top part of our feet, but I describe this in more detail and with pictures in a post I wrote called:
Do your kids always get frustrated when putting on their shoes due to them not being wide enough? Do they have a favorite shoe brand that they have been wanting to wear but their feet can’t seem to fit in the shoes? One of the many secrets I describe in this post is a selection of Nike shoes for kids that will fit a child with wide feet! This is huge since a lot of children with wide feet can’t wear Nike sneakers due to their shoes being too narrow!
The BEST way to make sure your kids’ shoes fit is to take them to your local children’s shoe store. You will find experienced shoe fitters that are experts in measuring and finding the correct pair of shoes for your children. Please keep in mind that by your local kids’ shoe store I don’t mean Nordstrom’s, Stride Rite, or Payless…
Several Stride Rite shoe stores have closed all around the country, but they keep selling their shoes online.
You must stay away from those places if you want to provide your child with the correct shoe size. I have helped several children who came to our children’s shoe store from those places wearing the WRONG shoe size.
The MAIN ISSUE is that your local kids’ shoe store are disappearing, and several parents have contacted me asking me where they can get their kids’ shoes online.
Finding your kids’ shoes online is not an easy thing to do if you don’t know what to look for or how each shoe style fits. One of the many things I learned after fitting children’s shoes for over 7 years is that the size that your child measures in the measuring scale NEVER actually translates into your child’s shoe size!
After fitting children’s shoes for over 7 years I know exactly how each shoe style fits. If you are a parent who doesn’t have a children’s shoe store to take your kids’ to, I am here to help you find the perfect pair of shoes for your child!
Like I mentioned before, my goal has always been to have a website where parents could find all the answers to their questions that relate to their kids’ feet and their shoes.
In this post, I will provide you with my most popular articles that describe the most common questions parents have about their kids’ feet!
The Best Sport Shoes For Children With Wide Or Extra Wide Feet!
Whether your kids’ likes to play soccer (indoor or outdoor), baseball, basketball, or tennis, providing them with the correct type of shoes and the correct shoe size will have a huge impact in the way they will perform on the field! Most parents are not even aware that cleats in wide and extra wide widths even EXISTED!
When our children are playing sports, they are stressing their feet and legs at a whole different level! Every time they are running, their feet, legs, and knees are taking a beating from striking the ground at a whole different level. Wearing the correct type of shoes will reduce the impact their feet take every time they impact the ground.
However, it doesn’t matter how supportive the cleat is, if it’s not fitted properly, it will create all sort of foot problems such as blisters, calluses, and corns. When a shoe is not wide enough, our kids’ pinky toe (small toe) is very likely to develop a blister. The real issue comes when that blister develops into a corn, since corns are really hard to get rid of!
This is why it’s so important to provide our kids’ with cleats that are wide enough!

The type of summer shoe that we decide to provide for our kids’ must be durable (to last the whole season), supportive (so our kids can run around and play all day), and dry fast (so our kids don’t walk with wet feet all day).
When kids’ are going to summer camp, they need an all-terrain summer sandal that will allow them to perform all of the different fun activities.

Going hiking is a great way to spend good quality time with the family, while enjoying nature and fresh air! There are two important features that a hiking boot must provide for our kids. The first one is that they must be waterproofed, and the second one is that they must provide good traction!
A waterproof hiking boot will keep our kids’ feet dry and warm when going hiking, and the traction will prevent your child from slipping and falling down when walking on wet surfaces!
Besides providing those two important features, the hiking boot must be able to accommodate our kids’ with wide and extra wide feet!

The Best Winter Boots For Children With Wide And Extra Wide Feet!
When winter time starts approaching, depending on the place you live, you might have to deal with snowy days. Children love to play in the snow! Let’s face it, if you live in the United States you can easily get stuck in your home for three straight days! Allow your child to get outside and play in the snow while still keeping his or her feet dry and warm!
Besides being waterproofed, snow boots should be insulated as well! But… what do we do for our kids’ with wide feet? Do we just get them a whole size bigger to compensate for the width?
The answer is NO! We NEVER want our kids’ shoes to be fitted long in order to take pressure away from the width! This will end up compromising our kids’ stability and make them more prone to falls and injuries!

Socks play a huge role when it comes to keeping our kids’ feet and legs healthy! They act as a barrier between our kids’ feet and their shoes, and prevent our kids from getting infections and developing blisters.
It is also important for the socks to be made out of breathable materials, and if your child has a hard time keeping his or her socks on, SEAMLESS socks are truly miracle socks!
When children have wide or extra wide feet, all socks seem to feel too tight on their feet and bother them. So, the question is, do socks for children in wide or extra wide feet EXIST?
