Please note that the boots that come with shoelaces are always going to be more effective in fitting the shape of a child with narrow feet. The main reason for this is that the shoelaces are more effective in “hugging” the child’s feet and making the boots fit better. Shoelaces are also more effective in preventing heel slippage. I actually found a particular shoe-tying technique that works great for kids with narrow feet:

Are the Boots I Recommended Still Too Wide for Your Child’s Feet?

If the boots I recommended don’t fit your child’s narrow feet correctly, don’t jump the gun and return them just yet. These are the narrowest boots that I have fitted before, and I am not sure that there is another boot style on the market that is going to fit the shape of your child’s narrow feet better. With that said, there is a particular method that you can try that is going to help make the boots fit and feel better.

Have you ever heard of tongue pads? They are adhesive-backed pads that if placed correctly on the tongue of the shoes will push the child’s heels back and secure them against the back of the boots. This helps fill any remaining gaps inside the boots and prevents heel slippage.
