Are Shoes with Laces Better than Velcro Closure?
When children with narrow feet visit the shoe store that I work for, I usually prefer to fit them in shoes that have shoelaces instead of velcro closure. The main reason for this is that shoes with laces help secure the foot more effectively the laces “hug” the child’s feet better, helping prevent heel slippage. That being said, some of the back to school shoes that I recommend below are available with velcro closure.
Shoes with double velcro closure are the next best thing to shoes with laces, and you will notice that the shoes that I recommend have double velcro straps.
