Saucony Shoes for Boys Review – The Most Supportive, Lightweight, Flexible, and Affordable Style!

The Saucony shoes that I recommend in this article are parents’ favorites as they love how stylish, durable and affordable the shoes are. You can always find cheaper shoes at Target, Walmart, or Payless but those shoes usually end up falling apart faster and they don’t provide the correct amount of support. Saucony is a very popular shoe brand that has been manufacturing children’s shoes for many years, but among this shoe brand, certain models are a lot more durable and comfortable than others.

Did you know that your child won’t get any of the benefits that the shoes have to offer if you don’t provide him with the correct shoe size? I am always emphasizing to parents to take their kids to their local children’s shoe store, where a shoe fitter can properly measure their feet and find shoes that properly fit the shape of their feet.

Most Common Mistakes Parents Make

One of the most common mistakes that I see parents make is to assume that once they figure out their child’s foot size, that size automatically translates into their child’s actual shoe size. Shoes can fit short, long, narrow, or wide, and depending on how they fit you will need to adjust what size you get for your child. As a rule of thumb, we always want to provide children with half a size — 3/16 of an inch or 0.8 centimeters — of space between the longest toe and the end of the shoes.

The Saucony shoes that I recommend below are available from a toddler shoe size 4, all the way up to a big kid shoe size 7. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the best Saucony shoes for boys.

I only review shoes that I have fitted before, as that is the only way for me to know much support the shoes provide, how well-made they are, and how they fit. What Shoe Size Should You Order?

These shoes fit “short”, which means that you need to get a whole size longer (3/8 of an inch or 0.8 centimeters) than the size that your child measures in the standard shoe measuring scale (Brannock device) to allow for growing room.

From a fitting perspective, this shoe style fits short and narrow so please follow the guidelines below when choosing your child’s shoe width:

  • If your child has narrow feet choose the medium width (M).
  • If your child has medium feet choose the wide width (W).
  • If your child has wide feet choose the extra wide width (XW).

Retrieving Your Child’s Exact Foot Length and Shape

If you don’t have a local shoe store in your area, take a look at an article I wrote where I describe the simplest, yet most effective way to figure out your child’s foot size from home.

In that article I help parents determine their child’s exact foot size and whether the child has narrow, medium, wide, or extra wide feet. I also will be able to tell you whether your child has a high instep or not.

The shoes I recommended are very reasonably priced for the quality and support that they provide. You are getting an everyday pair of sneakers for your child that he will end up outgrowing before the shoes get worn out or destroyed.

I really like the fact that Saucony offers shoes that are available in different widths such as medium (M), wide (W), and extra wide (XW). I decided to recreate the most important questions that parents ask about these Saucony shoes:

➡️ Can My Child Wear These Shoes as Their Everyday Pair of Shoes?

Yes, your child can wear these shoes for their everyday activities. The shoes offer really good support for your child’s feet and are lightweight and flexible at the same time.

➡️ Are These Shoes Durable?

Yes, children usually outgrow these shoes before they wear them out.

➡️ What Are These Shoes Made Of?

These shoes are made of leather and mesh upper which provides durability and breathability.

➡️ Do These Shoes Provide Good Traction?

Yes, these shoes provide excellent traction which helps prevent your child from slipping and falling, especially when walking on slippery, wet surfaces.

➡️ Do These Shoes Come with Removable Insoles?

Yes, and you can easily pull them out if you have to.

➡️ Can You Fit Orthotics Inside These Shoes?

Yes, I have fitted orthotics inside some of the shoes I recommended above. However, other shoe styles work better with orthotics.

➡️ Can I Put These Shoes in the Washing Machine?

No, I don’t recommend putting these shoes in the washing machine.

➡️ Are These Shoes Easy to Put On?

Yes, these shoes are easy to put on as they open up widely.

What I like about this shoe style:

1️⃣ The shoes fit extremely well and they are very versatile as they offer enough support to be worn for everyday activities.

2️⃣ Easy On & Off! You won’t have to struggle every time you are putting your child’s shoes on as they open up nice and wide. If your child is old enough, she won’t have any trouble putting on the shoes by herself.

3️⃣ Lightweight and Flexible. Great for children who are running around all day!

4️⃣These shoes are breathable so they help prevent bacteria from building up inside the shoes.

5️⃣ These shoes are available in different widths and half sizes. While you might believe this is a given for most shoes, there are a lot of kids’ sneakers out there that are available in whole sizes only.

What I don’t like about this shoe style:

❌ Won’t fit children with extra wide feet and high insteps.

Not machine washable.
