Toddler Jordan Shoes – Are They Good For Your Kids’ Feet?

Kids Jordan Shoes

Have you been looking for a pair of Jordan shoes for your toddler? Did you know that a toddler’s first walking shoes are critical in form and fit, and they will play a key role in keeping your child’s feet and legs healthy?

I have been working for a children’s show store for over 8 years now, and I know everything that relates to children’s shoes and the way they FIT. The shoe store specializes with children with foot and leg problems, and our goal is to reduce or fully eliminate the pain they are experiencing.

If you have been thinking of providing your toddler with a pair of Jordan shoes, please be aware that Jordan shoes are fashion shoes, not functional shoes.

You might be asking yourself: What does that mean?

Functional shoes serve a purpose and come in different widths such as medium, wide, or extra wide. They also provide good support and structure to be worn as everyday shoes. Fashion shoes don’t come in different widths and they don’t normally provide the support that your kids’ feet need to perform their everyday activities.

There is nothing wrong with providing your toddler with a pair of Jordan shoes as long as you understand that they will ONLY fit them if they have a narrow, or a medium width foot. If your toddler has wide or extra wide feet, you won’t be able to provide your child with a pair of Jordan shoes.

IMPORTANT TIP: Most toddlers have wide to extra wide feet.

Keep in mind that Jordan shoes are not the best choice for your kids’ to play around all day. If you decide to provide your child with a pair of Jordan shoes, I will recommend that they use them for a couple of hours a day. Fashion shoes are meant to be worn for no more than 5 hours a day, and your child can wear them when you take them out to the shopping mall or a gathering.

You know what is the secret to keeping your kids’ feet and legs healthy? It’s actually pretty simple: Provide them with a pair of well fitted shoes that provide good support to perform their everyday activities!

I want to emphasize that Jordan shoes are not available in wide or extra wide widths. I have fitted this shoe brand before and it’s a great brand, as long as the shoes FIT the shape of your toddlers’ feet.

There are several other shoe styles I will recommend for your child instead of Jordan shoes, but I understand that some parents do want to provide their children with a pair of Jordan shoes, so I wanted to provide them with a selection of the best fitting and most supportive styles.

In this post, I will describe the best toddler Jordan shoes!

Are Jordan Shoes Good For Your Kids’ Feet? – Check The Width!

As long as your kids’ feet are a narrow or medium width, you will be able to provide them with a pair of Jordan shoes.

I have fitted this shoe brand before and some of the features that these shoes will provide to your child are:

  • Lightweight: this feature will prevent your kids’ feet and leg from feeling tired after wearing them for a while.
  • Flexible: shoes made from flexible materials will mimic your toddler’s bare feet which will allow for natural movements every time they take a step.
  • Breathable: shoes made from breathable materials will allow airflow for your toddler’s sweaty little feet.
  • Rubber outsole for traction and durability.

In order for your toddler to get all the benefits that the shoe has to offer, you must provide him/her with the correct shoe size. I always explain to parents the importance of taking their children to their local kids’ shoe store where a shoe fitter can properly measure their feet and find shoes accordingly.

Places such as Nordstrom’s or Payless don’t qualify as fitting stores. I am talking about your independently owned  shoe store that hires shoe fitters that know how to measure your kids’ feet and find shoes accordingly.

Several parents have contacted me asking where they can get their kids’ shoe online, since they don’t have a kids’ shoe store in their area that they trust.

Getting your kids’ shoe online is not an easy thing to do, but you can start by reading an article I wrote where I explain how to make sure you provide your child with the correct shoe size:

How To Measure Kids Shoe Size From Home – In Less Than 30 Seconds!

One of the reasons why it’s so hard to find shoes online is that most shoe styles are cut a little bit different. For example, some of them might run short, long, wide, or narrow.

I have helped thousands of children through the year and I am familiar with how most shoe styles FIT, so if you ever have a question about how a particular shoe style FITS please do not hesitate to ask me!

The Best Jordan Shoes For Toddlers – The Secret Revealed!

Now that you know about the importance of finding the correct shoe size for your child, you are ready to see the best selection of Jordan’s shoes for toddlers.

Please remember that Jordan’s shoes (especially for toddlers) are fashionable, not functional shoes.

Let’s take a look at some “Do’s” and “Don’ts” that we should consider before choosing shoes for our children.

We DO want to pick something comfortable and breathable, since COMFORT is the most important aspect when looking for shoes for our toddlers. Remember that our young toddlers cannot express or might NOT tell us whether their shoes are fitting them properly, so observation and choosing good quality shoes are our only options.

We also DO want to look for shoes that are easy to put on but hard to slip off. This will save you a lot of time and will keep your child safe since you will prevent him or her from tripping over loose shoes.

Don’t buy used walking shoes or use hand-me-down shoes for your toddler because they have likely molded to the feet of the previous child that was wearing the shoes.

Let’s keep our kids’ feet healthy by providing them with shoes that FIT and are SUPPORTIVE for their feet.

Below you can find a selection of the best Jordan shoes for toddlers!

Please remember that if your child has wide or extra wide feet, Jordan shoes will be TOO NARROW for their feet.

Does Your Child Has Wide Or Extra Wide Feet? – Don’t Panic!

So, if your child has wide or extra wide feet we must find an alternative. Providing your child with shoes that are too narrow will create several foot issues such as blisters, calluses, and corns! It will also impact his or her everyday activities and keep in mind that one once a corn is formed, it’s really hard to get rid of it. This is the reason why I wanted to provide parents with an alternative in case their children have wide or extra wide feet.

The shoes below will fit a child with medium, wide, or extra wide feet.

This selection of shoes fit “true to size”, which means that you need to go a half a size longer of the size that your child measures in the shoe measuring scale in order to allow for growing room.

I have fitted all of these shoe styles before and I know how well they FIT, how well they are made, and some of the features that they provide which are lightweight, breathable, and good traction.

While we are always looking for our kids to look good, it’s important to never compromise the way the shoes FIT!  Remember that you can prevent all of these foot issues from happening by simply providing your child with not only the correct shoe STYLE, but the correct SHOE SIZE as well!
