Kids Flip Flops with Arch Support – Allow Your Child to Wear Flip Flops This Summer!

Do you have a child with a foot condition such as flat feet or overpronation that requires him/her to wear supportive shoes at all times? Have you been trying to find a pair of supportive flip flops that your child can wear this summer? One thing is clear, most children’s flip flops don’t provide any support whatsoever. There is only a small selection of kids flip flops with arch support, but the good news is that I will help you find them.

Can Children with Foot Problems Wear Flip Flops?

Children who have foot conditions are advised to wear shoes with good support at all times. However, for some families, it’s impossible to make their children wear their sneakers all day during the summertime. Children want to wear flip flops or shoes that are easy to slide on and take off just like the rest of their friends do.

There is one big problem with most flip flops: Studies show that this type of flimsy footwear can create several issues with your child’s feet, especially if your child is already dealing with a foot condition such as flat feet, overpronation, or low muscle tone.

Most children get upset when they are told that they can’t wear flip-flops. The good news is that I have found a specific flip flop style that provides better support than all other flip flops out there.

Allowing children to walk in unsupportive flip flops can impact their walking gait and overall posture, leaving children with a weak foundation that makes them more prone to developing foot conditions and lower back problems in the future.

What Flip Flops Have the Best Arch Support?

I have found a specific flip flop style that provides excellent arch support as it comes with a substantial and supportive outsole.

Let me show you the difference between the flip flop I recommend and most other flip flops styles. Do you notice how the flip flop on the right has a thicker/supportive outsole compared to the flip flop on the left?

This feature is going to reduce the impact that your kids’ feet take when they come in contact with the ground. The substantial outsole and built-in arch support are also going to prevent your child’s feet and legs from easily getting tired.

The flip flops I recommend also come with targeted support right below the heels. Let me show you the difference in heel support between the flip flop I recommend and a different style:

Are Flip Flops Bad for Flat Feet?

Most flip-flops can cause foot pain for children with flat feet simply because they don’t provide any support whatsoever. Flip flops can be bad for your kids’ feet if you buy unsupportive styles.

I always recommend children to wear supportive sandals during the summer such as Keen, Jambu, or Teva sandals, as they always provide better support than flip flops. If your child insists on wearing flip flops I will show you the most supportive style. The supportive flip flops that I recommend transfer force and decreases pressure off the ball of the foot.

What Size Should You Order Online? – Let’s Find Out!

Flip flops don’t come in half sizes so make sure that you always round up when ordering them online. For example, if your child’s foot size is a size 10 1/2 then I suggest that you order the size 11. If your child’s foot size is a size 1o I also recommend the shoe size 11, as flip flops are not available in half sizes. Makes sense?

How to Retrieve Your Child’s Exact Foot Length and Shape

You won’t be able to order the correct flip flop size if you don’t know your child’s foot size.

Does your child prefer to wear flip flops over the summer? Have you found another flip flop style that provides good arch support? I encourage families to share their findings in the comments section below so other families can benefit from your experiences.
