Saucony Shoes For Boys Review – The Most Supportive, Lightweight, Flexible, and Affordable Style!

The Best Saucony Shoe Style For Boys

I decided to review this particular shoe style made by Saucony because it provides all the features that parents want in their kids’ shoes. Please keep in mind that I only review shoes that I have fitted before, since I believe that is the only way to test the quality of the shoes and how they FIT.

Shoes can fit short, long, narrow, or wide, and depending on how they fit you need to adjust what size you will get for your child. We always want to go a half a size longer of your child’s foot size in order to allow for growing room.

If I describe a particular shoe style, I always need to know how it fits so I can tell parents to adjust the sizing. For example, if you have a child with a foot size 7 and you purchase a pair of shoes that fits “short”, then you need to provide your child with a shoe size 8 instead of 7 1/2 in order to allow for growing room.

I have been working for a specialized children’s shoe store for the last ten years. We specialize in children with foot and leg problems, but we also provide regular shoe fittings as well. I have fitted some of the best children’s shoe styles, and I am familiar with which brands and styles are better than others.

For the last three years I have been helping parents find the perfect pair of shoes for their kids’ ONLINE.

I have never let a family walk out the shoe store without being a 100% sure that their kids’ shoes were fitting properly. I care about making sure your child is wearing the correct type of shoes and the correct shoe size, since your child can develop several foot issues from wearing the wrong type of shoes.

Keeping your Kids’ Feet Healthy Means Finding the Proper Shoes!

The Saucony Baby Ride 10 is the #1 choice for parents who are looking a pair of SUPPORTIVE, LIGHTWEIGHT, FLEXIBLE, DURABLE, and AFFORDABLE pair of shoes for their kids.

Do you feel like you struggle every time you have to put your kids’ shoes on? Can you imagine not having to shove the shoes in your kids’ feet every time you have to put them on? I believe that this shoe style will make your life a lot easier!

This is one of the best shoe styles for children made by Saucony. This particular shoe style has been around for about 5 straight years, and Saucony keeps making them because parents are buying their kids the same shoe over and over again (keep in mind that it does come in different colors!).

This shoe style is available from a toddler shoe size 4, all the way up to a little kid size 12.

Since FIT to me is extremely important, I love the fact that these shoes are available in different widths such as medium, wide, and extra wide.

From a fitting perspective, this shoe style fits narrow and short, meaning that if your child has narrow feet you choose the medium width in order to accommodate the shape of his feet. In addition, if your child has a medium width foot I recommend that you try this shoe style in a wide width, and if your child has wide feet, I recommend that you order this shoe style in an extra wide width.

Parents also love how affordable this shoe style is: $38.95. Yes I know you can find cheaper shoes at places such as Target or Payless but those shoes usually end up falling apart a lot quicker and most importantly they don’t provide any type of support for your child’s feet.

I believe that for the quality and support this shoe style provides, they are very reasonably priced.

You are getting an every day pair of shoes for your child that I can guarantee you he will outgrow it before the shoes get destroyed.

Let’s take a look at how this shoe style looks like and a closer look at the features it provides. This first picture shows how breathable the shoe is and if you look at the sole of the shoe it looks thick , durable and supportive:

The picture below will show you the traction the shoe style provides:

I decided to recreate the most important questions that parents have asked me at the shoe store about the Saucony Baby Ride:

2- Is this Shoe Style Durable?

Yes, your child will most likely outgrow the shoes before they get destroyed ✅

3- What Type of Foot does this Shoe Style Fit?

This shoe style will fit a child with narrow, medium, and wide feet. Even though the shoe is available in extra wide widths, there are other shoe styles that will fit a child with extra wide feet better.

This shoe style is made of leather and mesh upper which provide durability and breathability.

5- Does this Shoe Style Provide Good Traction?

Yes, this shoe style provides excellent traction and will prevent your child from slipping and falling, especially when walking in slippery, wet surfaces ✅

6- Does this Shoe Style Come with a Removable Insole?

Yes, you can easily pull it out if you have to ✅

7- Can I Fit an Orthotic Inside this Shoe Style?

Yes, I have fitted orthotics in this shoe style before. However, there are other shoe styles that I have fitted before that I know will accommodate an orthotic better ✅

8- Can I Put this Shoe Style in the Washing Machine?

No, I do not recommend putting this shoe style in the washing machine.

9- Is this shoe Style Easy to Put On?

Yes, this shoe style is easy to put on since it opens up widely ✅

10- Does this Shoe Style Come in Different Colors?

Yes, this shoe style is available in other colors ✅

What I LIKE about this shoe style:

PRO #1 The shoe style FITS extremely well and its very versatile since it offers enough support to be worn for every day activities.

PRO #2: Easy On & Off! You won’t have to struggle every time you are putting your child’s shoes on since they open up nice and wide. If your child is old enough, he won’t have any trouble putting the shoes by himself.

PRO #3: For all the features that this she style provides I believe that is offered for a great price.

PRO #4: I love how lightweight and flexible this shoe style is. Great for children who are running around all day!

PRO #5: This shoe style will prevent bacteria from building up inside the shoes since it’s very breathable.

PRO #6: This shoe style is available in different widths and comes in half sizes and while you might believe this is a given for most shoes, there are a lot of kids’ sneakers out there that are available in whole sizes only.

What I DON’T LIKE about this shoe style:

CON #1: Won’t fit a child with extra wide feet and a high instep.

CON #2: Not machine washable.

Is your Child Wearing the Correct Shoe Size? – Let’s Find Out!

Did you know that your child won’t get any of the benefits that the shoes have to offer if you don’t provide him with the correct shoe size? I am always emphasizing to parents to take their kids to their local children’s shoe store, where a shoe fitter can properly measure their feet and find shoes that proper fit the shape of their feet.

If you don’t have a local shoe store in your area, take a look at an article I wrote where I describe the SIMPLEST, yet most effective way to figure out your child’s foot size from home:

How To Measure Kids Shoe Size From Home – In Less Than 30 Seconds!

Please keep in mind that this shoe style runs “short”, meaning that you need to go a whole size longer of the size that your child measures in the shoe measuring scale in order to allow for growing room.

If you have any, I mean ANY, questions about this particular shoe style or if you have tried this shoe style before, please let us know how you liked it in the comments section below.

2 Comments on Saucony Shoes For Boys Review – The Most Supportive, Lightweight, Flexible, and Affordable Style!

  1. Hi there! First, let me thank you on behalf of my 5 year old son, Conner. He has had ankle pain since he was walking. I have never paid any attention to his shoes…Awful Mom award! This is why we are thanking you. Your articles are straightforward & incredibly helpful. I will be visiting our local shoe store to get him assessed by a professional. Also, I read the article on Saucony Shoes & I’m all in. My only question is regarding the velcro (I know you mentioned in another article how the Shoelaces were best)?
    Again, thanks so much.

    • Hello Joie,

Thank you and I am glad that you find the website informative! I do recommend shoes with shoelaces instead of Velcro for children who are experiencing ankle pain. The main reason for this is that shoelaces will hug his ankles better, securing them and providing more support. If you want to learn more about the best shoes for children with ankle pain you can do so in an article I wrote called:

The Best Shoes With Ankle Support

You must find a solution to your son’s ankle pain and it all STARTS with the shoes he wears. You should also consider a heel cup in case the pain doesn’t go away by wearing a pair of good, supportive shoes.

      I hope this helps!
