Saucony Shoes for Girls Review – The Most Supportive, Lightweight, Flexible, and Affordable Style!

saucony-shoes-for-girls

The Saucony shoes that I recommend in this article are parents’ favorites as they love how stylish, durable and affordable the shoes are. You can always find cheaper shoes at Target, Walmart, or Payless but those shoes usually end up falling apart faster and they usually don’t provide the correct amount of support for your child’s feet.

My Experience Fitting Children’s Shoes – Over a Decade of Shoe Fitting Experience!

I have been working for a specialized children’s shoe store for the last 10 years where we specialize in helping children with “complicated” foot shapes as well as foot and leg problems, but we provide regular shoe fittings as well. I have fitted some of the best children’s shoe styles, and I am familiar with which shoe brands and styles are better than others.

about-me

One of the most popular shoe styles made by Saucony is called the “Ride”, as parents love how supportive, lightweight, flexible, durable, and affordable the style is. I believe that this shoe is very reasonably priced for the quality and support that it provides.

This particular shoe style has been around for about 5 straight years, and Saucony keeps making them because parents are buying their kids the same shoe over and over again —the shoe is available in different colors. I really like the fact that this shoe style is available in different widths such as medium (M), wide (W), and extra wide (XW).

I only review shoes that I have fitted before, as that is the only way for me to know much support the shoes provide, how well-made they are, and how they fit. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the best Saucony shoes for girls. Disclosure: Keep in mind that we may receive commissions when you click our links and make purchases.

The Best Saucony Shoes for Girls Review

Please note that if you don’t provide your child with the correct shoe size your child won’t get any of the benefits that the shoes have to offer.

One of the most common mistakes that I see parents make is to assume that once they figure out their child’s foot size, that size automatically translates into their child’s actual shoe size. Shoes can fit short, long, narrow, or wide, and depending on how they fit you will need to adjust what size you get for your child. As a rule of thumb, we always want to provide children with half a size — 3/16 of an inch or 0.8 centimeters — of space between the longest toe and the end of the shoes.

What Shoe Size to Order for Your Child? – Let’s Find Out!

To allow for growing room, I highly recommend that parents order these shoes a whole size larger than their child’s current foot size. This translates to 3/8 of an inch or 0.8 centimeters of space between your child’s longest toe and the end of the shoes.

From a fitting perspective, Saucony shoes fit short and narrow so please follow the guidelines below when choosing your child’s shoe width:

  • If your child has narrow feet, choose the medium width (M).
  • If your child has medium feet, choose the wide width (W).
  • If your child has wide feet, choose the extra wide width (XW).

I decided to recreate the most important questions that parents have asked me at the shoe store about the Saucony shoes I recommended above.

➡️ Can My Child Wear These Shoes as Their Everyday Pair of Shoes?

Yes, your child can wear these shoes for their everyday activities. The shoes offer really good support for your child’s feet and are lightweight and flexible at the same time.

➡️ Are These Shoes Durable?

Yes, children usually outgrow these shoes before they wear them out.

➡️ What Are These Shoes Made Of?

These shoes are made of leather and mesh upper which provides durability and breathability.

➡️ Do These Shoes Provide Good Traction?

Yes, these shoes provide excellent traction which helps prevent your child from slipping and falling, especially when walking on slippery, wet surfaces.

➡️ Do These Shoes Come with Removable Insoles?

Yes, and you can easily pull them out if you have to.

➡️ Can You Fit Orthotics Inside These Shoes?

Yes, I have fitted orthotics inside some of the shoes I recommended above. However, other shoe styles work better with orthotics. Please refer to the article below:

➡️ Can I Put These Shoes in the Washing Machine?

No, I don’t recommend putting these shoes in the washing machine.

➡️ Are These Shoes Easy to Put On?

Yes, these shoes are easy to put on as they open up widely.

What I LIKE about these shoes:

1️⃣ The shoes fit extremely well and they are very versatile as they offer enough support to be worn for everyday activities.

2️⃣ Easy On & Off! You won’t have to struggle every time you are putting your child’s shoes on as they open up nice and wide. If your child is old enough, she won’t have any trouble putting on the shoes by herself.

3️⃣ Lightweight and Flexible. Great for children who are running around all day!

4️⃣ These shoes are breathable so they help prevent bacteria from building up inside the shoes.

5️⃣ These shoes are available in different widths and half sizes. While you might believe this is a given for most shoes, there are a lot of kids’ sneakers out there that are available in whole sizes only.

What I DON’T LIKE about these shoes:

❌Won’t fit a child with extra wide feet and a high instep.

❌ Not machine washable.

Are You 100% Sure of Your Child’s Foot Size? – Let’s Find Out!

Did you know that your child won’t get any of the benefits that the shoes have to offer if you don’t provide him with the correct shoe size? I am always emphasizing to parents to take their kids to their local children’s shoe store, where a shoe fitter can properly measure their feet and find shoes that properly fit the shape of their feet.

Start by taking a look at a resource I created that showcases the best-fitting children’s shoe stores by state. Go to the link below:
