Are you having a hard time finding a pair of dress sandals for your child with narrow feet? Do you feel like you always waste a lot of time trying different pairs and always end up empty handed?
Working parents: What sounds worse? Shopping for your shoes or shopping for your kids’ shoes with narrow feet?
Finding a pair of narrow dress sandals for children can be a frustrating and time-consuming experience, especially if you don’t know what shoe brands and what particular shoe styles among those brands to look for.
Unfortunately, shoe companies stopped manufacturing dress sandals for children in narrow widths. The good news is that I know exactly which dress sandals styles fit narrower than others, and I will help you find them.
I have been working for a specialized children’s shoe store for over 10 years now, and I know everything that relates to children’s shoes and the way they fit. This is a specialized shoe store that focuses on children with foot and leg problems, but we provide regular shoe fittings as well. I am familiar with the best shoe brands for children with narrow feet and the best shoe styles among those brands, from actually having fitted the shoes before.
I am always emphasizing to parents the importance of providing their children with the correct shoe size, no matter how narrow or wide their kids’ feet are, in order to prevent foot problems.
Providing your child with the correct shoe size involves leaving the correct amount of growing room in the shoes (3/8 of an inch between the longest toe and the end of the shoes), and it also involves providing your child with the correct shoe width (a factor that most parents ignore).
If you provide your child with narrow feet a pair of sandals that are too wide, your child’s feet will end up moving too much inside the sandals, and that constant movement and friction between the feet and the shoes will lead to all sort of foot issues such as blisters, calluses, and corns. If you provide your children with sandals that are too wide, you will also end up comprising their stability, making them more prone to falling down and hurting themselves.
While the selection is small, there are certain dress sandals that will fit the shape of your child’s narrow feet perfectly, and I will show them to you shortly.

Leather Sandals for Kids with Narrow Feet – Soft, Comfortable, and Durable!
Dress sandals made out of leather will make your child feel more comfortable and get a better fit out of the shoes. This is because the leather material will feel soft and mold to the shape of your kids’ feet.
Try to avoid providing your children with dress sandals made out of synthetic materials, since that material will feel hard against your kids’ feet.
IMPORTANT TIP: Children will refuse to wear footwear that doesn’t feel soft and comfortable, so make sure that you always provide your child with the correct pair of shoes if you want to avoid wasting time and having to return the shoes later.
The narrow leather dress sandals that I will describe below will provide your children with the following features:
- Durability: Sandals made out of leather are the most durable ones; which will allow your child to be able to play and run around. You can rest assured that your child will outgrow these sandals before they get destroyed.
- Support: Dress sandals made out of leather will keep your kid’s feet healthy by providing them with support and being flexible and lightweight at the same time.
- Fit: Leather sandals will provide a better overall fit by offering better comfort to your children’s feet.
- Prevent Infections: Leather sandals are easy to maintain and clean, and they will prevent bacteria from building up inside them. This will also prevent your child from getting a foot infection.
Now that you know what features these sandals will provide to your child’s feet and how to make sure that you provide your children with the correct sandal size, you are ready to see a selection of the best dress sandals for kids with narrow feet.

All of these sandal styles fit “true to size”, which means that you need to provide your children with a “half a size” longer of the size that they measured at the standard foot measuring scale (Brannock device) in order to allow for growing room.
Please note that sandals and most seasonal footwear don’t come in half sizes, they are available in whole sizes only. Always size up to allow your child with growing room.
Just so you know, in order to allow for growing room there should be 3/8 of an inch of space between your children’s longest toe and the end of the shoes. The issue is that certain shoe styles might fit “shorter” or “longer” than others, and depending on how they fit you will need to adjust the size that you get for your child.
For example, if your children’s feet measure a foot size 7 but the shoes fit “short”, then you will have to provide them with a whole size longer instead of a half a size longer (since the shoes run short), so your child will end up getting a shoe size 8 instead of a 7 ½. On the other hand, if the shoes fit “long”, then you will have to provide your children with the same size that they measured (since the shoes run long). If the shoes fit “true to size”, then you will just go a half a size longer of whatever size your children measured at the foot measuring scale.
Please remember this: It doesn’t matter how narrow your kids’ feet are, there is always at least one particular shoe style out there that will fit the shape of your kids’ feet, and I will HELP YOU find it.
