Waterproof Boots for Boys – Keep Your Kids’ Feet Warm and Dry!

There is nothing more uncomfortable than walking around with wet feet, and in the cold weather, the discomfort magnifies. Imagine your children walking around with wet feet all day because they were not wearing the correct type of shoes. I have put together an up-to-date selection of waterproof boots for boys that can accommodate different foot shapes such as medium and wide feet.
Children like to play rough, and it’s important to keep their feet dry and warm, especially during the winter season. Providing children with a pair of waterproof boots allows them to play on those rainy, wet, cold days and keep their feet healthy at the same time.
The Importance of Providing Your Child with Waterproof Boots
Did you know that our feet are like a conduit to the body, and the temperature of the feet usually determines the temperature of the entire body? Your children’s feet are a soft and tender part of the body that can easily be infected when wet, especially when kids play in contaminated puddles.
Finding a pair of waterproof boots for your child is not hard, but finding a pair of waterproof boots to fit the shape of your child’s unique foot shape can be more complicated. Keep in mind that children’s feet come in different shapes and sizes, and if your child has narrow or wide feet, it makes the whole process of finding the correct shoe size a lot more challenging.

A pair of waterproof boots helps prevent your child’s feet from getting wet and cold. Keep in mind that most children won’t speak up once their feet get wet, and walking around with wet feet all day and lead to foot issues or even getting a cold. If you live in an area where it gets cold and rains a lot, a pair of waterproof boots is a must to take your children to school, the playground, or any other activity that involves being outdoors.

How to Retrieve Your Child’s Exact Foot Length and Shape
I created a virtual shoe fitting service that will help you retrieve your child’s shoe size from home. In that article I help parents determine their child’s exact foot size and whether the child has narrow, medium, wide, or extra wide feet. I also will be able to tell you whether your child has a high instep or not.

Some families prefer to provide their children with a pair of waterproof sneakers instead of boots.
The Difference Between Waterproof and Water-Resistant Shoes
It’s important to not confuse water-resistant and waterproof boots. The only way to be 100% sure that boots are fully waterproofed is to make sure they come with a label that says “waterproof”.
To figure out whether a boot is waterproof or not, it must come labeled with a sign that says waterproof in the boot. Take a look at the picture below for clarification:

Would You Prefer to Provide Your Child with a Pair of Snow Boots?
Keep in mind that none of the boots I recommended above are snow boots. These are called waterproof hiking boots, which are much more lightweight and flexible than snow boots and can be worn for longer periods of time. If you prefer to provide your child with a pair of snow boots then I created other resources that might help you. Here is an additional resource in case your child has wide or extra wide feet.
Snow boots are much heavier than hiking boots, and it will limit your child to wear them for shorter periods of time and only when it snows.
Don’t Forget About the Socks – Keep Your Kids’ Feet Comfortable!
Believe it or not, socks play a key role in keeping your kids’ feet healthy. They act as a barrier between your kids’ feet and the shoes and prevent the buildup of bacteria inside the shoes.
Socks also prevent your kids’ feet from rubbing against parts of the shoes, preventing the formation of blisters around the toes or ankles. While I won’t get into too much detail in this post about this type of socks, you should take a look at a post I wrote where I describe the hiking socks for kids.
