Asics Shoes for Kids – The Best Shoes for Kids with Narrow Feet!

If your child has narrow feet and you’ve heard recommendations—whether from friends, family, or online forums like Reddit or Quora—you’re not alone. Asics is a popular brand known for its secure fit, excellent cushioning, and support, making it a great option for kids with narrow feet. Choosing properly fitting shoes for kids with narrow feet is key to your child’s comfort and foot health, and Asics offers styles designed to meet those needs for everyday wear and long-distance running.
As a children’s shoe fitter with over a decade of experience, I consistently recommend Asics for kids with narrow feet. Why? Because Asics designs specific styles that offer two key features that make all the difference for a snug, supportive fit—perfect for growing feet that need a little extra structure.
Key Features of Asics Shoes for Narrow Feet
Feature One: Narrow Heel Counters. The heel counter is the part of the shoe that provides stability to the heel. Asics shoes are designed with narrow heel counters, ensuring a snug fit that prevents the heel from slipping, which is crucial for kids with narrow feet.

Feature Two: Narrow Toe-Boxes. This is the front part of the shoes and it helps prevent too much foot movement inside of the shoes. When there is too much foot movement that constant rubbing and friction between the toes and the shoes can lead to blisters, calluses, and corns.

Not only do the kids’ Asics shoes I’ll recommend fit narrow feet perfectly, but they also offer exceptional support while being lightweight and flexible—ideal for active little ones on the go! Hello,
First I want to say thank you for sharing your picks for shoes for kids with narrow feet. I have the hardest time finding anything appropriate for my daughter. Question though: do you have any suggestions for tie closure shoes? Do all ASICS brand tend to run more narrow or just the model you listed below? Thanks for your help!
Hello Natasha,
What shoe size does your daughter wear? Asics in general tend to fit narrower than other shoe brands, but certain styles definitely fit narrower than others:
The Best Narrow Running Shoes for Kids – Supportive, Lightweight, and Flexible!
In that article I provide options with shoelaces, but if you send me your daughter’s shoe size I can definitely send you something more specific. Thank you.
Juan, I sincerely appreciate all of your valuable information on
shoes for narrow feet. It’s very difficult to find a shoe
to fit my toddler grandson. Will you provide brand
recommendations for a boot with a narrow fit for a toddler
boy? We live in the South and don’t need a “winter” boot
specifically. Also, will Clarks or Timberland shoes provide
good support/fit for narrow feet?
Hello Mona,
I am glad that you find the information informative. Clarks boots do provide good support but they are not the best brand for a child with narrow feet. Since you live in a place where it doesn’t get that cold, I would recommend that you provide your child with a waterproof hiking boot. There is a particular hiking boot for boys made by Timberland that I have fitted before and it will FIT a child with narrow feet. It also provides good support/traction and it’s waterproof. You can find that boot below:

Please let me know how it works out!
Thank you for your recommendation!! This particular style of Merrill Hiking Boot doesn’t appear to be available for a toddler boy size 7. Will any other Merrill style of “non winter” boot work well in this size for a narrow foot? Also, do you recommend any of the European brands of boots for toddler boy with narrow foot needing good support?
Hello Mona,
I don’t know any other Merrell boot style that fits narrow. However, Naturino and Primigi are both really good european shoe brands for kids and they will fit a child with a narrow foot. The issue is that they tend to be more for cold weather.
I have fitted a style before which is waterproof but won’t make your child’s feet as hot. The boot is made by naturino and you can find it here:

That is a really good choice since it is waterproof, provides good support, and it’s lighweight and flexible AND it will FIT your boy with narrow feet. Good luck!
We ordered this Naturino boot recommended for my
2 year old grandson with narrow feet. This is a perfect fit
and he loves them! Thank you very much!
Hello Mona,
I am glad it worked out!
