Girls in Women’s Shoe Sizes – The Best Shoes for Girls with Large Feet!

Are you having a hard time finding a pair of shoes for your teenage girl with large feet? Do you feel like she is in between kids’ and women’s shoe sizes? The last kids’ shoe size is a size 7 and any shoe size above 7 is considered women’s or men’s shoe sizes. I have fitted several young girls that had a foot size larger than a size 7 in kids’ shoes. Even though we are a children’s shoe store, we still carry a selection of women’s shoes for those girls who have large feet.

Women’s Shoes Cost More Than Children’s Shoes

The first thing you will notice is how there is a big price increase between children’s and women’s shoes. However, the shoes I will describe in this article are supportive, lightweight, flexible, and breathable, but reasonably priced. I want you to know that the price of shoes is not a reflection of the quality of the shoes. What I mean is that while a higher-priced shoe tends to be made from better quality materials, you can definitely find a good pair of durable, supportive shoes at a reasonable price.

Kids’ and Women’s Shoe Sizes Translation

Just so you know, if your daughter wears a woman’s shoe size 8 ½ or smaller you can still get the kids’ version of the shoe for a much lower price. This applies to you as well! If you wear a woman’s shoe size 8 ½ or smaller you will be able to get the kids’ version of the shoe and save a lot of money!

You might be wondering, how is this possible? A women’s shoe size 8 ½ or smaller translates to a girl’s shoe size 7 – which as I mentioned previously is the last children’s shoe size.

Key Features of Shoes for Girls in Women’s Shoe Sizes

Since we will be looking into woman’s shoes for your child, these shoes must provide certain features to keep your kids’ feet and legs healthy. Some of these features are:

1️⃣ Supportive: For your child to be able to wear these shoes all day, the shoes must provide enough support to reduce the impact that your kids’ feet take every time they come in contact with the ground.

2️⃣ Lightweight and Flexible: While we do want your kids’ shoes to be supportive, they must be lightweight and flexible at the same time. Shoes that are too stiff and heavy will make your kids’ feet and legs tired.

3️⃣ Breathable: Shoes need to be breathable to prevent the build-up of bacteria inside the shoe and also prevent foot odors.

4️⃣ Traction: Shoes must provide good traction to prevent your child from slipping and falling.

5️⃣ Firm Heel Counters: The heel counter is the back part of the shoe that provides ankle support. The firmer it is the better, as it will cushion and support your kids’ ankles and prevent injuries.

I only write reviews of shoe styles that I have fitted before, otherwise, I wouldn’t know how well-made they are, the amount of support that they provide, and how they fit. A List of Women’s Shoes for Girls with Large Feet

These shoes are available in medium (M), wide (W), and extra wide (XW) widths.

Find Out Exactly What Shoe Size You Should Order Online

I created a virtual shoe fitting service that will help you retrieve your child’s shoe size from home. In that article I help parents determine their child’s exact foot size and whether the child has narrow, medium, wide, or extra wide feet. I also will be able to tell you whether your child has a high instep or not.

Remember that shoes can fit short, long, narrow, or wide, and depending on how they fit you will have to adjust the final shoe size that you get for your child.

Your Daughter’s Foot Size Doesn’t Translate Into Her Shoe Size

The most common mistake that I see parents make is to assume that just because their children’s feet measure a certain size in the shoe measuring device, that number automatically translates into their actual shoe size. This misconception usually leads to their kids wearing the wrong shoe size and their kids end up developing all sorts of foot issues such as blisters, calluses, and corns (which are really hard to get rid of).

For example, if your girl’s feet measure a foot size 7 but the shoes fit “short”, then you will have to provide them with a whole size longer instead of a half a size longer (since the shoes run short), so your child will end up getting a shoe size 8 instead of a 7 ½. On the other hand, if the shoes fit “long”, then you will have to provide your children with the same size that they measured (since the shoes run long). If the shoes fit “true to size”, then you will just go half a size longer of whatever size your children measured at the foot measuring scale.

Are Any Other Shoe Choices Available?

If you happen to need a different shoe style besides a walking/running shoe for your girl, please do not hesitate to contact me or leave me a comment in the section below and I will help you find them.

There is a different resource I created in case you happen to have a boy who is wearing men’s shoe sizes.

Do you happen to have a good children’s shoe store in your area that you trust? Parents are always asking me where they can get their children’s shoes, so it will be very helpful if you can leave your location and the name of the children’s shoe store that you trust so other parents can benefit from your experiences.
