Narrow Boots for Kids – The Best Boots for Kids with Narrow Feet!
Have you tried several different boots that all seem too wide for your child’s feet and calves? Children come in all shapes and sizes, and so do their feet. While some kids have wide feet, others have narrow feet or calves that need special consideration. I have been fitting children’s shoes for many years, and narrow feet are the hardest to fit. By the way, the list of narrow boots for kids I have put together has a list of hiking, winter, and stylish boots.
Why Shoe Companies Don’t Manufacture Children’s Shoes in Narrow Widths (N)?
One common question parents tend to ask me is: Why are there no boots available in narrow widths? Quite simply because shoe companies believe that there isn’t enough demand for it. The cost of mass-produced shoes is kept low by producing only the most common styles (medium width). The fewer variations there are, the lower the production costs for shoe companies. So, for kids with narrow feet like yours, it gets harder to find shoes that fit.
Most parents fail to notice that their kids have narrow feet. You should pay close attention to how your children walk and run to determine how comfortable they are with their shoes. If you notice that they are walking or running funny it might be a sign that they are uncomfortable with the shoes they are wearing.
Challenges Faced with Standard Boots
➡️ Lack of Options: Most stores stock standard-sized boots, making it challenging to find narrow options. This limited availability can be frustrating for parents who want the best for their children.
➡️ Inadequate Fit: Standard boots often leave too much room, causing the foot to slide around. This can lead to blisters or other foot issues over time.
➡️ Compromised Functionality: With an improper fit, standard boots may not provide the necessary support, making them less functional for active children.
How to Choose Narrow Boots for Kids
1️⃣ Narrow Heel Counters: This is the back part of the shoe, and the narrower it is, the better, as it will help prevent heel slippage. Do you notice how the boot on the right has a narrower heel counter compared to the boot on the left?
2️⃣ Narrow Platforms: The boots that I recommend provide narrower platforms to help accommodate the overall shape of your child’s narrow feet:
3️⃣ Look for Adjustable Features: Boots with adjustable straps or laces can offer a better fit for narrow feet and calves. These features allow you to customize the fit according to your child’s specific needs.
Whether your child is running around the playground, hiking with the family, or just walking to school, boots that fit well can significantly enhance their performance. Narrow boots ensure that your child can move freely without the worry of slipping or tripping. How to Order the Correct Shoe Size Online
You might be sure of your child’s foot shape (narrow), but are you 100% sure of what shoe size you should order online? I cannot emphasize enough the importance of providing your child with the correct shoe size. Shoes that are too short or too long can affect your child’s walking gait and prevent your child from getting all of the features that the shoes have to offer. I created a virtual shoe fitting service that helps families from all over the world retrieve their child’s exact shoe size.
What Are the Best Boot Brands for Kids with Narrow Feet?
Two shoe brands are very consistent when it comes to fitting children with narrow feet. However, this doesn’t mean that all of their styles will fit the shape of your child’s narrow feet since certain styles work better than others. These shoe brands make good quality, supportive boots that your child can wear for most of the day:
Naturino
This particular shoe brand believes in making not only the best looking and trending shoes, but they also consider the health of the feet of the kids. They usually partner with pediatricians and physical therapists to consider how they can make the best shoes for children.
Naturino makes great quality, supportive boots that fit children with narrow feet. These boots also provide great traction, flexibility, and warmth. What parents love the most about this shoe brand is how it provides stylish-looking boots that are also functional, meaning that they are waterproof and can be worn for longer periods of time.
Ricosta
This shoe brand has been manufacturing healthy and quality shoes for children for a long time now and has been innovative enough to stand the test of time.
Both of these shoe companies use advanced technology in the production of their kid’s shoes. This is because they understand the importance of keeping kids’ feet healthy as they grow.

I created a different resource that showcases a list of narrow everyday sneakers for children with narrow feet.
How Can You Check If Your Kids’ Boots Are Too Wide?
Have your child put on the boots and check if there is extra space around your child’s heels or if there is too much extra material in the front of the boots. Take a look at the images below for clarification purposes:
Are the Boots I Recommended Still Too Wide for Your Child’s Feet?
If the boots I recommended don’t fit your child’s narrow feet correctly, don’t jump the gun and return them just yet. These are the narrowest boots that I have fitted before, and I am not sure that there is another boot style on the market that is going to fit the shape of your child’s narrow feet better. With that said, there is a particular method that you can try that is going to help make the boots fit and feel better.
Have you ever heard of tongue pads? They are adhesive-backed pads that if placed correctly on the tongue of the shoes will push the child’s heels back and secure them against the back of the boots. This helps fill any remaining gaps inside the boots and prevents heel slippage.
I explain how tongue pads work in more detail in another resource I created that you might find helpful.
