Narrow Boots for Kids – The Best Boots for Kids with Narrow Feet!

best-narrow-boots-for-kids

Are you having a hard time finding a pair of boots that fit the shape of your child’s narrow feet? Do you feel like you try on a whole bunch of different styles but you always end up empty handed?

Finding a pair of narrow boots for children can be a frustrating and time-consuming experience and you will end up empty handed if you don’t know what brands and styles to look for.

Unfortunately, there is a small selection of boots that will work for children with narrow feet, but the good news is that I have fitted these boots before so I will be able to help you find them. In addition to fitting your child’s narrow feet, the boots I recommend are functional boots, meaning that they will be waterproof and provide a supportive rubber outsole so your child can walk around comfortably.

I have been working for a specialized children’s shoe store for over 10 years now, where we specialize in children with foot and leg problems, but also provide regular shoe fittings. Over the years I became familiar with the best shoe brands for children with narrow feet.

Parents are always complaining about how hard it is to find shoes for their kids’ with wide or extra wide feet, but those parents don’t know that it is even harder to find shoes for children with narrow feet.

One common question parents tend to ask me is: Why are there no shoe styles available in narrow widths?

Quite simply because there isn’t enough demand for it. The cost of mass produced shoes is kept low by producing only the most common styles (medium width). The less variations there are, the less the production costs for shoe companies. So, for kids with narrow feet like yours, it gets harder to find shoes that fit.

What Makes the Boots I Recommend Effective for Narrow Feet?

The boots I recommend provide 2 key features:

✅ Narrow Heel Counter

✅ Narrow Toe-Box

Take a look at the images to visualize the difference between a boot with a narrow heel counter and a narrow toe-boxversus a boot with a wide heel counter and a round toe-box . These boots are the same length and width. Do you notice how the boots on the right are a lot narrower than the boots on the left?

Let’s start by checking if the boots that your child is wearing are too wide.

✅ The first step is to start by checking the toe-box of the boots and check whether there is too much extra material around it. Take a look at the image below for clarification:

✅ The second step is to check whether you can slide your finger around the heel area of the shoe. If it feels like you can fit more than one finger around that area, then the shoe might be too wide for your child’s feet.

Those are both signs that your children are wearing boots that are too wide for their feet. Please keep in mind that if you provide your child with a shoe that is too wide you will end up creating several foot issues such as blisters, calluses, and corns.

I will provide you with a selection of the best narrow boots for kids that I have fitted before shortly, but I first want to share with you what are the best shoe brands for kids with narrow feet and how you can figure out your child’s foot size from home if you will ordering your kids’ shoes online.

Are You 100% Sure of Your Child’s Foot Size? – Get it Right!

I am always emphasizing to parents that it does’t matter how many features a particular shoe style provides, if the shoes are not fitted properly which involves getting the correct shoe length and the correct shoe width, your child won’t get any of the benefits that the shoes have to offer.

I always recommend parents to take their children to their local children’s shoe store that they trust, the issue is that most stores have been closing down and parents need to end up buying their kids’ shoes online. There is nothing wrong with this, but you must know your child’s exact foot size in order to know what size to order.

I created a map that showcases the best fitting children’s shoe stores by state, so I suggest you start by taking a look at that map:

The Best Kids’ Shoe Stores In The United States – Where To Go For Proper Fittings

If after looking at that map you still can’t seem to identify a shoe store in your area, then proceed to taking a look at an article I created that describes the simplest, yet most effective way to figure out your child’s foot size from home:

How to Measure Your Kids Foot – 2 Simple Steps to Determine Foot Length and Foot Width

I only write reviews of shoe styles that I have fitted before, otherwise I wouldn’t know how well-made they are, the amount of support that they provide, and how they fit.

Below you can find a selection of best narrow boots for children. Please note that these boots are not actually available in narrow widths, but they are the narrowest fitting boots I have fitted before. This first selection is for toddlers::

In order to allow for growing room, I highly recommend that parents order these boots a whole size larger than the size their children’s feet measure. This translates to 0.6 inches or 1 centimeter of space between your child’s longest toe and the end of the shoes.

Always make your children try their boots with the same exact type of socks that they will wear them with.

The Best Boot Brands for Kids with Narrow Feet

There are two shoe brands that are very consistent when it comes to fitting children with narrow feet. However, this doesn’t mean that all of their styles will fit the shape of your child’s narrow feet, since certain styles work better than others.

These shoe brands make good quality, supportive boots that your child can wear for most of the day:

Naturino ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is one of the best shoe manufacturing companies for kids. Naturino has been in the business of providing quality shoes for kids for over 40 years.

This particular shoe brand believes in making not only the best looking and trending shoes, but they also consider the health of the feet of the kids. They usually partner with pediatricians and physical therapists in order to consider how they can make the best shoes for children.

Naturino makes great quality, supportive boots that fit children with narrow feet. These boots also provide greattraction, flexibility, and warmth. What parents love the most about this shoe brand is how it provides stylish looking boots that are also functional, meaning that they are waterproof and can be worn for longer periods of time.

 Ricosta ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This shoe brand has been manufacturing healthy and quality shoes for children for a long time now.

Ricosta provides boots that offer good arch and ankle support. With these boots, your kids can run, jump and playaround comfortably as the shoe will fit your child with narrow feet and provide good support.

This shoe brand has been around for a long time and been innovative enough to stand the test of time!

Both of these shoe companies use advanced technology in the production of their kid’s shoes. This is because they understand the importance to keep kids’ feet healthy as they grow.

If you happen to need a pair of narrow boots for yourself, I created an article where I describe the best winter boots for women with narrow feet and you can find it here:

Most parents fail to notice that their kids have narrow feet. You should pay close attention to the way your children walk and run to determine how comfortable they are with their shoes. If you notice that they are walking or runningfunny it might be a sign that they are uncomfortable with the shoes they are wearing.

I always emphasize to parents the importance of providing their children with the correct shoe size. The shoes can’t fit too long, too short, too narrow or too wide, they must fit just right. Remember that if the shoes are too wide for your kids’ feet, they will make your child’s feet move too much inside the shoe and create blisters, calluses, or corns, among many other issues.

Getting the correct shoe size and the correct shoe style for your kids will save you a lot of  time and money in the long run!
