Fitting Children’s Shoes: The Number One Place to Find Your Kids’ Shoes

Narrow Sandals For Boys – The Best Styles For Your Boy With Narrow Feet!

Boy Sneaker Sandal

Have you been looking for a pair of narrow sandals for your boy? Do you feel like you waste a lot of time trying different styles but can’t seem to find one that fits?

I have been fitting children’s shoes and orthotics for ten years at a premier children’s shoe store specializing in proper fit for over forty years. We specialize in children with foot and leg problems, but we provide regular shoe fitting as well. It’s important for us to carry top quality shoes that are available in different widths, since that’s the only way we can guarantee to FIT every single child.

I have also been helping parents find the correct type of shoes for their children online for the past three years. I want you to remember this: It doesn’t matter how narrow or how wide your kids’ feet are, there is at least one particular shoe style out there that will fit the shape of your kids’ feet and I will help you find it.

Whether you are looking for an everyday shoe or a seasonal shoe for your child, finding them in a narrow width is extremely complicated. There are certain everyday shoes that I have fitted before and I know that they will fit a boy with narrow feet perfectly and I describe them in this article I wrote:

However, when it comes to seasonal shoes and in this particular case summer sandals, it gets even harder since the selection gets even smaller.

We must take the time to find shoes that fit the shape of our kids’ feet otherwise we will end up creating several foot issues to their feet such as blisters, calluses, and corns. If you provide your child with a shoe that is too wide, his foot will end up moving too much inside the shoe and that constant friction and rubbing against the shoe will lead to the foot issues mentioned above. Wearing a shoe that is too wide can also lead to foot and leg pain, since our feet are not getting the proper support from the shoes.

Finding the correct type of sandal for your child with narrow feet can be very time-consuming, but since I have fitted narrow sandals for children before, I am familiar with which sandal styles fit narrower than others, and I will share a selection of the best narrow sandals for boys in this post.

Sandals For Kids With Narrow Feet

How Can You Tell If Your Boy Has Narrow Feet?

I have been fitting children’s shoes for so long that just by looking at the feet I can tell whether that child has narrow feet or not. Of course, the measuring device tells us whether the child has narrow, medium, wide, or extra wide feet, but if you don’t have a measuring device (Brannock device) at home, there are certain ways you can figure out whether your child has narrow feet.

For example, pay close attention every time you try a shoe in your child’s feet. If it feels like is always too wide on the front and there is a lot of gaps around his heels, this means that the shoes are too wide and that your child probably has narrow feet. You can also check if you can slide your finger around the heel area of the shoe, that is also a sign that the shoe might be too wide.

Wearing a shoe that is too wide will create a myriad of problems, so we must first identify whether our kids have narrow feet and then find a shoe that will fit the shape of their feet perfectly.

Which Brands Make Sandals For Boys With Narrow Feet?

There are certain shoe brands that you should start getting familiar which are Naturino, Stride Rite (certain styles), Keen (certain styles), and Garvalin.

I have fitted summer sandals from these brands before and Naturino and Garvalin are pretty consistent and most of their shoe styles will fit a child with narrow feet. When it comes to Stride Rite and Keen there are certain styles that fit much narrower than others.

I always recommend parents to take their children to their local kids’ shoe store, so their kids can be properly fitted for shoes. These sandals are all waterproofed and if you fit them with correct amount of growing room your child will be able to wear them for the whole summer season.

These shoe styless fit “true to size” so you just need to go a half a size longer of the size that your child measures in the shoe measuring scale in order to allow for growing room. Most seasonal footwear and in this particular case summer sandals do not come in half sizes. This means that if  for example your child measures a shoe size 9 in the shoe measuring scale, then you will have to choose the size 10 for your child since the 9 1/2 will not be available.

Prevent Your Kids Sandals From Developing A Smell!

I have heard several parents comment about how bad their kids’ summer sandals start to smell after their children wear them for a couple of months. If your child will wear his summer sandals for most of the day, it is highly likely that they will start developing a smell.

Just to be clear, there are no products in the market right now that can help get rid of the smell, so DO NOT waste any money in products thinking that they will help.

There is a home-based product secret that involves using baking soda and vinegar and that will definitely help to get rid of the smell! Just make sure you rub it throughout the sandal, especially in the neoprene part. Several parents have told me how they have tried this method and worked perfectly.
