Have you been looking for a pair of salt water sandals for your boy? I recently wrote an article that describes the best salt water sandals for girls and parents have been asking me to write one for boys.
While some parents provide their children with salt water sandals every summer, some parents might not be familiar with what salt water sandals are.
Saltwater sandals are a popular type of sandal that is made of specially treated natural leathers and it’s known for having an interlink strap design with an adjustable buckle strap around the ankle. Here is an example of how they look like:
Parents love how versatile these sandals are since their kids can wear them for several different activities and occasions. The other feature parents love about salt water sandals is how they are available in different colors and styles to choose from. This will make it easy for your boy to coordinate with almost any outfit.
The styles I will describe in this article are all made with 100% genuine leather uppers and available in different colors.
Several parents have asked me one common question: Do salt water sandals fit children with wide or extra wide feet?
While salt water sandals are not available in wide or extra wide widths, there are certain styes that fit wider than others and they will fit the shape of your child’s wide feet since I have fitted them before.
I always explain to parents how it doesn’t matter how narrow or wide your kids’ feet are, there is at least one particular shoe style out there that will fit the shape of your kids’ feet perfectly and I will HELP YOU find it!
I have been working for a specialized children’s shoe store for over 10 years now, and I know everything that relates to children’s shoes and the way they fit. This is a specialized shoe store that focuses on children with foot and leg problems, but we provide regular shoe fittings as well. I am familiar with which shoe brands and which shoe styles are better than others in terms of support, fit, and durability.
For the last 3 years I have dedicated myself to helping parents find the perfect pair of shoes for their children online.
Please keep in mind that your boy should not wear his salt water sandals as his every day shoes, since they don’t provide enough support for your kids’ feet. I always recommend wearing them for no more than 6 hours a day and then have your child switch back to his pair of every day sneakers.
A great feature of the salt water sandals that I will describe shortly is how they will form to the shape of your boys’ feet after being worn for a couple of times. These sandals will provide comfort, fashion, and functionality, which makes it the perfect summer shoe, since your boy can wear them to the beach, splashing in the sea, pounding the pavement, or just hanging out.
I will show you a selection of the the best salt water sandals for boys shortly. I want you to get familiar with what features these sandals will provide to your child and how to figure out your child’s foot size from home.

Keep in mind that these particular sandal styles fit “small”, so I recommend going a half a size to a whole size longer of the size that your child measured in the standard foot measuring tool (Brannock Device), in order to allow for growing room.
Please note that most sandals are available in whole sizes only. Remember that when it comes to seasonal footwear you need provide your children with enough growing room for them to wear them throughout the whole season.
The quality and durability of these particular salt water sandals are unmatched, and they offer versatility when it comes to dressing your child up, since they are stylish enough for both a formal setting like going to church or for a casual setting like going to the beach.
One factor that most parents agree with is how salt water might feel stiff at first. What I recommend doing is soaking them until the leather is wet, and then put them on your boy’s feet while wet and have him wear them around the house for a few hours to break them. This will make the sandals feel softer.
Most parents I have spoken to agree that these are the best salt water sandals and love the fact that their kids can do anything in them, even get them wet without ruining them.

Salt Water Sandals for Mom? – You Will Love Them Too!
I have spoken with several women that told me how salt water sandals are their to-go type of sandal for the summer. Most of them tell me how they wore these sandals when they were a child, which just tells you how classic these sandals are!
Grandmothers also told me how they used to provide their kids with these types of sandals when they were little, and now they are starting the same tradition with their grandson’s.
One secret that most women are not aware of is that if they wear a women’s shoe size 9 or below, they can get the kids’ version of these sandals (same quality and support) at a much lower price since you will be paying for the kids price.
For example, if you wear a women’s shoe size 7 that translates to a kids’ shoe size 5 ½. Basically, you take your women’s shoe size and substract a whole size and a half to get your kids’ shoe size. While this might sound confusing, you will end up saving a lot of money in shoes.
I explain how this shoe size conversion works in more detail in an article called:

One tip I don’t want you to forget is to always soak the sandals and wear them around the house in order for them to stretch out and fit more comfortably.
Now that you know which are the best salt water sandals for boys and women, you are ready to make the most informative decision.
Always take a look at your children’s feet once you remove the sandals and check if there are any red signs on the top of their feet or around their toes. This usually means that the sandals might be too narrow.
