Saltwater sandals are a popular type of sandal that is made of specially treated natural leathers and it’s known for having an interlink strap design with an adjustable buckle strap around the ankle.

Are You 100% Sure of Your Child’s Foot Size? – Let’s Find Out!

If you don’t provide your child with the correct shoe size, your child won’t get any of the benefits that the shoes have to offer. What’s even worse, you will end up creating all sorts of foot issues for your child’s feet such as blisters, calluses, and corns, as well as foot and leg pain.

To order the correct sandal size online, you need to know your child’s exact foot size first. Let’s first check if you have a good fitting children’s shoe store in your area.

How to Retrieve Your Child’s Exact Foot Length and Shape

I created a virtual shoe fitting service that will help you retrieve your child’s shoe size from home. In that article I help parents determine their child’s exact foot size and whether the child has narrow, medium, wide, or extra wide feet. I also will be able to tell you whether your child has a high instep or not.

The quality and durability of these particular salt water sandals are unmatched, and they offer versatility when it comes to dressing your child up, since they are stylish enough for both a formal setting like going to church or for a casual setting like going to the beach.

Unsure About What Shoe Size you Should Order?

Most sandals are available in whole sizes only. Remember that when it comes to seasonal footwear you need to provide your children with enough growing room for them to wear throughout the whole season.

Let’s take a look at a couple of scenarios to help you figure out what sandal size to order for your child:

  • If your child measures a foot size 5, you will order the sandal size 6 and your child will still get the correct amount of growing room.
  • If your child measures a foot size 5 ½, you will order the sandal size 7  and your child will get the correct amount of growing room.

Makes sense?

Your boy should not wear his salt water sandals as his everyday shoes, as they don’t provide enough support for your kids’ feet. I always recommend wearing them for no more than 4 hours a day and then have your child switch back to his pair of everyday sneakers.

Are Your Kids’ Sandals Fitting Correctly?

Always inspect children’s feet once you remove the sandals and check if there are any red signs on the top of their feet or around their toes. This usually means that the sandals might be too narrow.

Do the Sandals Feel Too Stiff?

One factor that most parents agree with is how salt water might feel stiff at first. What I recommend doing is soaking them until the leather is wet, and then put them on your boy’s feet while wet and have him wear them around the house for a few hours to break them. This will make the sandals feel softer.

Salt Water Sandals for Mom? – You Will Love Them Too!

I have spoken with several women that told me how salt water sandals are their to-go type of sandal for the summer. Most of them tell me how they wore these sandals when they were a child, which just tells you how classic these sandals are!

Grandmothers also tell me how they used to provide their kids with these types of sandals when they were little, and now they are starting the same tradition with their grandson.

One secret that most women are not aware of is that if they wear a women’s shoe size 8 or below, they can get the kids’ version of these sandals (same quality and support) at a much lower price since you will be paying for the kids’ price.

For example, if you wear a women’s shoe size 8 that translates to a kids’ shoe size 6 ½. Basically, you take your women’s shoe size and subtract a whole size and a half to get your kids’ shoe size. While this might sound confusing, you will end up saving a lot of money on shoes. I explain how this shoe size conversion works in more detail in a different resource I created.

One tip I don’t want you to forget is to always soak the sandals and wear them around the house for them to stretch out and fit more comfortably.
