Why Choose Bogs Snow Boots for Your Little Explorer? – 5 Awesome Features
Bogs has gained a reputation for producing high-quality, durable, and comfortable footwear for children. Their snow boots are no exception and they actually offer several benefits that make them a top choice for toddlers learning to walk:
1️⃣ Waterproof and Insulated: Bogs snow boots are constructed with waterproof materials that keep your baby’s feet dry in snowy and wet conditions. They are also well-insulated, ensuring your child’s feet stay warm and cozy during the cold winter outings.
2️⃣ Easy On and Off: Many Bogs snow boots feature convenient pull-on handles which make them easy to put on and take off. This is a time-saver and a lifesaver when dealing with squirmy toddlers. Some styles also have a velcro strap on the back to secure your baby’s feet.
3️⃣ Non-Slip Outsoles: The outsoles of Bogs snow boots are designed to provide excellent traction, reducing the risk of slips and falls, which is important for babies who are still mastering their walking skills.
4️⃣ Durability: Bogs boots are known for their durability, and these boots are no exception. They can withstand the rigors of winter play and are built to last through the season and more. This is an awesome feature as you can pass on the boots to a younger baby or a friend/family member.

How to Figure Out Your Baby’s Snow Boot Size
Shoes can fit short, long, or true to size, and depending on how they fit you will need to adjust the final shoe size that you get for your toddler. To allow for growing room, I highly recommend that parents order these boots a whole size larger than their baby’s current foot size. This translates to 3/8 of an inch or 0.8 centimeters of space between your baby’s longest toe and the end of the shoes.
Keep in mind that you should always round up when buying snow boots – as most of them are not available in half sizes – For instance, if your baby’s foot size measures a size 5 1/2 you should get a size 6. If your baby’s foot size measures a size 6, then you should get the boot size 7. These considerations feed into my next point on how to retrieve your baby’s exact foot length and shape.

Learn How to Retrieve Your Baby’s Exact Foot Length and Shape
I am always emphasizing to parents to make sure that they provide their babies with properly fitting shoes, in this case, boots, otherwise, they might end up creating several foot issues such as blisters, calluses, and corns. If you are not sure what your baby’s actual foot size is, take a look at an article I wrote where I describe the simplest, yet most effective way to figure out your child’s foot size from home. Socks for Snow Boots – Let’s Keep Your Toddler’s Feet Warm!
Socks do so much more than act as a barrier between your toddler’s feet and the shoes. The correct type of socks help prevent the formation of blisters and the build-up of bacteria inside the shoes. The socks that you want to provide for your toddler should be made out of wool and tall enough to cover and protect your toddler’s feet from the boots. Some parents tend to make the common mistake of assuming that thicker socks automatically translate into better and warmer socks. This is untrue, because it’s all about the material the socks are made of.
Consistent with this, I always recommend parents choose socks made of merino wool which is a soft, breathable and moisture-wicking fabric. Another great feature of merino wool socks is that they are antimicrobial, which reduces smelly feet and also helps get rid of that clammy smell your child typically gets after wearing boots. I have put together a selection of the best toddler socks for the winter season:
- Size 2T-3T fits shoe sizes 5-8 and size 4T-5T fit shoes sizes 8-11
- 73% Cotton, 18% Polyester, 7% Nylon, 2% Elastane
- Three-pack of lightweight socks with various striped prints-and-patterns
- 70% cotton, 27% polyester, 3% spandex

Hello,
Thank you so much for creating this website and sharing your expertise! I was able to find soccer cleats and shoe inserts via your recommendations that no longer hurt my daughter’s feet. Since now she has minimal to no pain, she is now interested in taking up other sports and has taken a liking to golf. I was wondering if you would have any suggestions on golf shoes for kids?
Hello Miranda,
I am happy to hear that!
Unfortunately, I haven’t fitted any children’s golf shoes before, so I don’t feel comfortable making suggestions.
