Narrow Slippers for Kids – Let’s Prevent Your Kids’ Slippers from Falling Off!

Are you having a hard time finding a pair of slippers to accommodate the shape of your child’s narrow feet? Do you feel like you have tried different slippers but they all end up coming out of your child’s feet? There is a very small selection of narrow slippers for kids, but the good news is that I will help you find them.

I have been contacted by several families who can’t seem to find one single pair of slippers for their kids with narrow feet. Finding a pair of slippers for a child with narrow feet can be a frustrating and time-consuming experience, especially if you don’t know what slippers to try.

You might want to provide your kids with a pair of slippers to protect their feet from the cold tile floor, or to prevent their feet from stepping into random objects around the house. Whichever your reason might be, it’s important to provide your child with a pair of slippers that are easy to put on and take off, and that also provide warmth and good traction at the same time.

Parents of children with narrow feet have the hardest time finding shoes for their kids. However, I have created several articles that describe the best children’s shoes for narrow feet. I am always emphasizing to parents that it doesn’t matter how narrow their kids’ feet are, there is always at least one particular shoe out there that will fit the shape of their kids’ feet perfectly, and I will help you find them.

The main issue with slippers is that they don’t come with any type of closure to hold the child’s feet in place, and this is a huge disadvantage if your child has narrow feet. For example, it’s easier to fit sneakers for children with narrow feet since you can always try shoes that come with shoelaces, which tend to hug the child’s feet better and prevent the child’s heels from coming out of the shoes.

What Makes the Slippers I Recommend Effective for Narrow Feet?

While the selection is really small, I have found certain slippers that have been more effective in fitting the shape of a child with narrow feet. One of the styles actually comes with a velcro strap that will help keep your child’s feet in place. I always recommend parents to find slippers that provide these 2 important features:

1️⃣ Secure Closure: Even though your child will obviously be wearing the slippers inside the house, this doesn’t mean that your child will not be running around. Slippers that provide a secure closure provide your child with better stability as well.

2️⃣ Rubber Outsole: it’s important for your child’s slippers to provide good traction on the bottom to prevent your child from slipping and falling.

Once we find a slipper that provides these 2 important features, the next step is to make sure that you provide your child with the correct slipper size. This brings me to this next question: Are you 100% sure that you know your child’s exact foot size?

One common mistake that I see parents make is to provide their children with narrow feet with shorter shoes to compensate for the extra space. You need to stop doing this or your child might develop blisters from the constant rubbing between your child’s toes and the front or the side of the slippers.

This is the reason why I always recommend parents take their children to their local specialized children’s shoe store to have their children’s feet properly measured and their shoes properly fitted. The issue is that most children’s shoe stores have been closing down, and parents end up buying their kids’ shoes online.

How to Retrieve Your Child’s Exact Foot Length and Shape

Start by taking a look at a resource I created that showcases the best children’s shoe stores by state.

If after looking at that resource you still can’t seem to find a shoe store in your area, then take a look at another article that I created to assist parents in determining their kids’ shoe size at home effectively and with ease. In that article I help parents determine their child’s exact foot size and whether the child has narrow, medium, wide, or extra wide feet. I also will be able to tell you whether your child has a high instep or not.

Now that you know your exact child’s foot size and what features your kids’ slippers must provide, let’s take a look at a selection of the best slippers for children with narrow feet. The Best Slippers for Kids with Narrow Feet

Take a look at the description below each slipper that I recommend to find out what shoe size you should order to allow for the correct amount of growing room.

Keep in mind that these slippers are not available in half sizes, they are available in whole sizes online. What does this mean in terms of fit?

If your child’s feet measure a foot size 7, I recommend that you order the slipper in the same size 7. If your child’s feet measure a foot size 7.5, then I recommend that you get the slipper in a size 8. Makes sense?
